"Ans 1. Motorcycling to me is something that lets me express myself from the core. it helps me to put me across nature like it comes to us - i.e. without saying any words.

Ans 2. photography to me is trying to capture world through my eyes. the way i perceive and look at things. it gives me an opportunity for me to conne...ct with my innerself. After all you dont know its in you till you see it through the lense.

Ans 3. they are related? hell yeah - two sides of the same coin and the only common thing binding them is an individual who wants to explore, believe and is ready go to any extent for making these two ends meet."

  3. You see, I will answer this assuming monogamy with one single piece of the machines called Motorcyle.

    1) it is like courting a girl, one who you would marry and not leave whatever happens. it is also like getting to know her slowly but surely, and even getting surprised. it is like building an affair slowly over a long time, and over endless cups of teas, including breakdowns analogous to fights with lovers, repairing analogous to making up, and then, going on longish impractical rides analogous to defeating big difficulties of life such as paying for your son's heavyweight college education. Overall, it is a lady! and you build a friendship with her! (this could be a predominantly male point of view, but that's how it is for me)

    2) Photography of course by virtue of being a data-generator does cause memories. However,I look at it as an extension of the gift of vision. A camera brings to us angles that eyes cannot. A camera also brings to us thoughts that our natural vision cannot simulate. In a way, a camera (though the word sounds like a male because of the 'a' in the end) also is like a mistress, and practicing photography is like refining your relationship with her.

    3) The one thing that defines their relationship is - you are better off with only mistress. They can both kill you, and will always be envious of you. However, like all the philanderers, most motorcyclists and photographers are colourful people who have given in to their impulses, and hence, they double time.

Long live 'them and the art of motorcycle maintenance while photographing'

    Cheers!

    Swapnil

"I was thrilled by the two bikes we had in my small town of the army personnel 3.5 HP like a batallion of jumping horses is passing through. Then came 2.5 HP and now down to 1 HP but my craze for those 3.5 HP bike still fills my heart with vigour. HOWEVER MY CHOICE GOES ABOVE 1.25 HP today since my hand muscles bump up on their sounds.

Photography, the medium of capturing images on sensors for the posterity, which also relates to travel on bikes with cameras, searching out the inner sides of hills, mountains, particularly Himalayas...Both machines working together will fetch out unsearched area of the country to the world."

"ANSWER 1. Motorcycling is..... well before I give my opinion I would just like to mention that I have indeed rode on one of those motorcycles once or twice.... the second which led me to an accident... so with that said...... Motorcycling for me is a dangerous activity...a lot of lives lost in accidents involving undisciplined riders with no proper protective equipment especially here in the Philippines, where some riders take multiple passengers and not most can't even provide helmets for themselves much less their passengers.... I've seen others taking up to as much as 5 people on their bikes... lil' kids... with no helmets... riding on the highways. But Motorcycling per se... I guess is good and quite liberating experience for most, but I guess it would be better if all had the right attitude and proper equipment...

ANSWER 2.Well, what can I say really about photography.... Im no pro but when I take pictures it's like theres an air sort of... a spirit guiding me to seek the beauty in small petty things we see everyday... it's like when I started taking pictures... I saw the World ANEW..... and it's not really just taking pictures it's expressing yourself..... expressing deepest feelings... aspirations... dreams... it's uniting your UNIVERSE to the UNIVERSE around you...

ANSWER 3. I guess if there would be any relation it is that Both are Liberating..... from the brief experience I had while riding..... it gives you a sort of high just the same with Photography..... it lifts you up.... and gives a drug-like high... but I'll just stick to taking pictures on foot....LOLz.... XD"

  18. 1. what does motorcycling mean to you:

Ever floated on the Pondichery sea with the blue clear sky wide open engulfing the entire universe around you and the deep abyss of the water reminding you of the danger of slipping into oblivion for ever....What you experience just lying there in the middle of the ocean as long as you want----its called TIMELESSNESS...FOREVER!!

Ever rode on NH 47, connecting Bangalore to Chennai...Your bike is at a constant speed of 120 kmph...the black tar shining in the sun welcoming you forever to feel the gust of wind push you into the realms beyond the dimensions known to mankind....Its called----THE NEVERENDING JOURNEY!!

Ever rode at a height 19000 ft above sea level, touched base at the highest motorable pass in the world, MARSIMIK LA, meet the most honorable and courageous of men, the guardians of our country's borders and looked straight into the valley of the enemy...Its called----THE SOLDIER's PEEK

Ever crossed the most dangerous pass in the entire Himalayas, the ZOZILLA pass, at 14500 ft above sea level, on a 350cc Bullet Electra machine, grinding rocks and biting dust through the blasted mountain ranges and be held awe-stuck by the most scintillating flash of beauty created by mother nature, revealing the first view of heaven on earth, the valley of Kashmir, a place called Sonmarg....Its called---
    FINDING NEVERLAND!!

For me motorcycling is FINDING NEVERLAND experiencing TIMELESSNESS FOREVER in a NEVERENDING JOURNEY and occasionally take a SOLDIER's PEEK!!

2.What does Photography mean to you?

The crystal green water of Pang-ong-Tso mixing with the heavenly blue of a cloudless sky separated by a million colorful rocks of the Himalayas....The flush green meadows of a Punjabi farmer's land covered with droplets of the morning dew....The Rajasthani desert shining in the hot sun luring you to the watery image of a most awaited oasis....The gigantic JOG falls pouring into the heart of Karnataka smashing the rocks so hard the clouds become envious of the falls' water droplets stealing their glamor....The view of a road flanked by the huge Western Ghats covered with green forests on one side and the mighty Arabian sea passing past the horizons ready to engulf this small man made creation on the other side....And finally when you reach the place on Earth where the three seas meet, Kanyakumari....the poet within you is at his extreme high ready to carve in his memory every sensuous detail of these spectacular views....But where the poet within me failed, a PHOTOGRAPH did wonders!!

3.How are these above related, if at all?

Sometimes I feel if my eyes could be replaced by a camera, I would definitely do that when I embark upon a motorcycle trip!! Imagine the different dimensions of a spectacular scene you can see and feel if your eyes could be adjusted like a camera!! VAMOS MOTORCYCLING!!

  21. ELIZABETH CHAPMAN (Hampshire, United Kingdom:

" Freedom and the road. I love it when you are on your bike and you can leave the car behind you. Well they think they owne the road some car drivers. No seriously, you have the freedom and chance to hit the open road and brave the elements and view the world around you.

Photography means that you can capture the imagine ...and event, as it happens and you can store your memories and take home with you the events of the day. It is also an open window to the world and its people.

Yes the two are related in some ways. You need the bike to get you out there to take the photos in the first place. The motorbike can take you off that beaten track, that the car can not always do to take the photos in the first place."

  23. Motorcycle means ,life.......
Every time i ride my bike.I just forget all the worries & problems in my life.Just helps me to try new challenges &new heights.I feel happy whenever i take a long ride, just makes me feel like no need to look back just enjoy the ride of my life ,I know it sound's crazy but truly that's what motorcycle means to me ........

Photography means to keep the vision from the past in the living present ,photos don't change or lie ,people change and forget the past ,so it helps to remember their roots, happiness or lost.Because life keeps on going .......

I think Both have vision, faith and destiny ........
